MPN
MPN: TE100-S24G
Main features
Type: Hubs: the hub may apply to a large number of devices: some can not be used on Ethernet networks, others are of the Ethernet hubs. In the case of a network of small size, the choice of a hub is limited often to find the best price and to predict the evolution of your network. Switches: these devices filter and forward data packets from one LAN segment to another. Switches KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) allow to control several computers. They are very popular for users who have upgraded their personal computer systems and who wish to continue to use their old computer without having to buy another keyboard, another display, or an other Ethernet souris.Commutateur
Level OSI: Switches of level 2 (data link)
Level 2 switches operate on the basis of physical network addresses. These addresses, also known as MAC, or level of binding, physical addresses are used to identify each device. Most of the devices receive a physical address permanent during the manufacturing process.
Level 2 switches are very fast because they just sorting physical addresses, without attempting to inmore about the destination of the packets of data.
Switches of level 3 (network)
Level 3 switches use network or IP addresses that identify the locations on the network. Unlike the switches of level 2, they carefully examine network addresses to identify the network and the physical device locations. Location, means a LAN workstation, a location of computer memory, or even a different data packet transmitted over a network.
Switches that operate at level 3 are intelligent systems which include routing functions to actively calculate the best way to send a package to its destination. Despite their "intelligence", they are sometimes slower than level 2 switches, especially when their algoritlmes, their matrix or their processor do not high flows.Level 2
Manageable system: Manageable
A manageable device includes management, monitoring and configuration functions that allow to control and manage the network through different indicators of State.
Not manageable
A non-manageable device cannot be configured or managed via a network. You therefore do not need to define settings or configure the device. Not manageable
Interfaces
Ports: 24 x 10Base-T/100Base-TX (RJ-45)
Performance
Switch fabric capacity: 4.8 Gbps
MAC address input: 8000
Standards and protocols
LAN standards: It's standards of connection supported by the device. Don't forget to make sure that they are compatible with the devices to which you want to connect.IEEE 802.3 CSMA/CD or Ethernet
IEEE 802.3U 100 Mbps (Fast Ethernet)
IEEE 802.3 x (flow control)
Protocols: The protocols indicate signals that the switch or hub connected to the device will support. They define the syntax (arrangements, formats and patterns of bits and bytes) and semantics (control of the system, context of the information or meaning of the patterns of bits and bytes) data exchanged, and other parameters such as synchronization and data flow.STP
Other features
Lights LED: The LED lights are used to indicate the State of the ports or switches, notably as regards activity, food, connection speed or scale of traffic.Food
